The Norwich Printing Museum and the History of Printing
The talk will be illustrated with a video about the Museum and some printing props.
The Norwich Printing Museum was previously in the ownership of the John Jarrold Printing Company but the group decided to stop funding it in 2019 and permanently close it. Fortunately some of the Museum’s volunteers decided it was important to save the Museum and so its work continues today.
The talk will give an overview of the history of the Museum but more importantly the history of the Letterpress printing process. The process is a historic craft industry dating back to the 15th century and deserves to be protected for the future.
