True Crime
NNU3A’s True Crime group started in April 2018 and we have met regularly ever since, not dropping a beat during the pandemic when we met on Zoom. Our aim is to investigate historical and current crimes and to explore and discuss general criminal justice issues. Most of our sessions are researched and led by group members but we invite occasional outside speakers
We meet on the fourth Monday afternoon of the month from 2.30 – 4.30pm, the exceptions being when this clashes with a Bank Holiday or a prior booking at the venue.
We meet at The Gallow Sports Centre, Hempton Road, Fakenham, NR21 7NY Tel: 01328 862867
The Sports Centre is part of the Fakenham Racecourse complex and is accessed from the road leading from the centre of Fakenham towards Hempton. The entrance is on Hempton Road almost opposite Jewson’s. Drive all the way up the drive and the Sports Centre is on the left after the tennis courts which are on the right. There is ample parking. The Sports Centre has a bar that you can use before or after the meeting, including light lunches.
The cost
We have to pay for the hall hire and also any visiting speakers. The cost is about £15 a year per person, depending on the size of the group. We ask group members to pay £5 on joining the group and then ‘as and when’ we need to top up the funds.
The group is pretty well up to capacity at the moment with 50 group members, but we welcome new members who are able to make presentations or lead a discussion group. For further information contact me, Susan Riddle the Group Contact, on 01328 855270 or by email at nnu3atruecrime@gmail.com
