The Music Appreciation Group meet at Bodham Village Hall on the fourth Thursday of the month between 2.00pm and 4.00pm. The group do not meet in December.

We all contribute £10 approximately every 4-5 months to cover the cost of refreshments and hiring the hall.

We meet for the pleasure of listening to and sharing opinion on good music which is usually (but not exclusively) classical music. Members of the group often volunteer to present and play a selection of music based on a composer or a theme. At some meetings we invite all members to bring in a piece of music to share with the group.

During 2024 we enjoyed a number of excellent themed presentations including:

The Bach brand
Scandinavia with Sagas and Legends
The Centenary of Sir Charles Villiers Stanford
Music inspired by Nature
Musical curiosities
Music from the Two Folk Counties (Norfolk and Suffolk)
Space and the Cosmos
 
In addition our members also brought in some fascinating and very varied music to share with us.
We already have some exciting topics lined up for 2025.
 
This is a very informal group and we are always pleased to see new members. We can promise you a warm and friendly welcome and no previous musical knowledge or expertise is necessary!
