Architecture
Group meetings are held on the 4th Thursday in the month (10.30-12.30) in Field Dalling Village Hall.
We are a friendly group of enthusiastic amateurs with an interest in architecture and architects. You don’t need any previous knowledge or experience - having an interest in buildings and architecture is more important than professional or technical knowledge, though we welcome members with knowledge of the subject, to enrich our understanding.
As a group we explore a wide range of architectural history and architecture – from Classical to Post Modern - including interior design. We are working our way through the “Starchitects” who have shaped our modern societies. And we are learning about the factors that will shape architecture in the future in a zero-carbon world.
We currently have 20 members; and we have room for more.
Members volunteer to do talks in our programme, and they can be from 15 minutes to 60 minutes; we learn about architects, movements, and styles. We have occasional visiting speakers and go on trips, but mainly our learning is based on talks by members and discussion.
If you require additional information please contact us by email, ensuring your name and telephone are in the message.
