Flowers of the Norfolk Coast
Norfolk has some of the finest un-spilt salt marshes in Europe, and together with the beaches, dunes, soft, low cliffs and the massive sweep of shingle that stretches from Weybourne west to Blakeney Point, supports a wealth of wild flowers, some found nowhere else in Britain.
Simon Harrap has written extensively on wild flowers, including Orchid of Britain and Ireland: A Field and Site Guide, Harrap’s Wild Flowers, and Flowers of the Norfolk Coast, each illustrated almost exclusively with his photographs.
When not botanising his day job is at ’Natural Surroundings’ on the Bayfield Estate, where, together with his wife Anne, he manages the wildlife-friendly gardens, nursery, cafe and shop.
